Reselling on eBay

eBay is the largest online platform to sell unwanted and old items online.  One of the best side hustles you can start with a well known popular company is to resell on eBay.

Reselling on eBay is basically finding new or gently used items that you can purchase for cheap from thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets, and Craigslist and then resell those at a higher price on eBay. You can even buy your products from eBay to sell on eBay.

It is important to know which products sell well on eBay and then find those products to buy for cheap and resell on eBay with a good profit margin. This will help you be a more successful eBay reseller.

Popular books, in-demand vintage items, and seasonal items are some of the best products you can buy for cheap and resell for a profit on eBay. Take really good photos of the products you are listing and give an honest description of each product. You can list your items for sale at a “Buy It Now” price or in an auction format.

Many people make a good side income each month buying items and reselling them on eBay. Some people even make a full-time income reselling on eBay. However, don’t be afraid to start small!

Selling Homemade Goods on Etsy

Are you crafty or creative? Then selling your own handmade artwork, crafts, and goods on Etsy can be one of the best side hustles you can start to make money on the side. You can create and sell your own hand-made jewelry, cards, invitations, candles, pottery, or anything else.

You can also sell digital products on Etsy. You can sell the same digital product over and over again, meaning it can be a passive form of income.

In fact, Etsy was my side hustle for years and I made over $500/mo selling digital products! I upgraded to a website but I still make $200+/mo passively through Etsy!

It is free and easy to create an Etsy shop. All you need to start your Etsy shop is to create an Etsy account, choose a name for your Etsy shop, and pick your payment methods. Once your store is live online, you can then customize your shop.

Once you have created a shop on Etsy, you can add your products to the shop. There is a $0.20 listing fee per listing to the marketplace. A listing lasts for four months or until the item is sold – whichever comes sooner.

When an item sells, Etsy will charge you a 5% transaction fee on the sale price (including the shipping fee). There is also a payment processing fee if you accept payments with PayPal.

Etsy also offers two packages. The default package is called Standard and it is free. The other package is called Plus that is $10 per month.

You can promote your products using social media and your own blog or site, if you have one You can open an Etsy shop to start selling your crafts online here:

Shopping and delivering groceries with Instacart or Shipt

Instacart is a grocery delivery service that hires shoppers to buy groceries for their customers and deliver the orders to the customers. Shipt is similar, but includes some household shopping as well. As a full-service shopper, you need to have access to a vehicle, as you will shop for customers and then deliver the groceries to them and  get paid for it.

If you work as an in-store shopper, no vehicle is required as you will get paid for shopping only for customers within a store. Full-service shoppers are independent contractors while in-store shoppers are part-time employees.

You can work when you want because there are no set hours with Instacart. As a full-service shopper, you have the flexibility to choose your own schedule.

Shipt advertises that you can make up to $22 an hour, and Instacart is probably similar. The amount you earn changes for each order, depending on the size of the order, type of items, number of items and driving distance. You keep 100% of customer tips! If you work during peak times, you could get more orders to earn more money.

Instacart hires shoppers that are 18 years or older and eligible to work in the U.S.  You can download the Instacart delivery app to apply for an Instacart grocery delivery job here:

Starting a dropshipping business with Shopify

You can start a business as a side hustle using the dropshipping business model. If you have a strong marketing background and a knack for selling online, then you can start a dropshipping business as a side hustle.

This is where you list a product of a third-party supplier on your online store and when your customer purchases the product, you purchase the product from the third-party supplier, i.e. your dropshipping supplier that then ships the product directly to the customer. The customer pays you retail price for the order and you pay the supplier wholesale price for the same order. The difference between the price you charge your customer and the price your supplier charges you is your profit.

With dropshipping, you do not keep the product you sell on your online store. Once you have decided on a product you want to sell, here is how dropshipping business model works:

you list the product of a third-party supplier (your dropshipping supplier) on your dropshipping online store

your customer orders the product at retail price on your online store

the order is automatically sent to your dropshipping supplier

you pay the supplier wholesale price for the product

the supplier sends the order directly to the customer.

You can create a dropshipping website or online store on Shopify. You can try dropshipping with Shopify free for 14 days, no credit card required.

With Shopify, you can set up your own dropshipping site even if you are not tech savvy. Once you have set up your Shopify dropshipping online store, you can link products from dropshippers to your store using a dropshipping app like Oberlo.
