If you have a mid to large size business, I recommend you use a full accounting software like Quickbooks ($14-$100/mo) to track your business’s financials so you can generate a cash flow statement, balance sheet, and profit and loss statement plus keep track of your other financials in a more detailed manner. If all of that sounds like a little much for your current stage of business, this spreadsheet and system is probably right for you! This is a simple, easy to use, and easy to understand system for very small businesses and solopreneurs who are in the beginning stages of getting organized financially. With this system you will begin to understand your business’s revenue, expenses, and profits more clearly. To open in Google Sheets, download and save the file to your computer without opening it. Open Google Sheets. In the upper right quadrant, select the Manila folder icon to “upload file”. Refresh often.

The spreadsheet is super simple in the best possible way! Having been a previous QuickBooks user and not using half of what the program offered, I really appreciate the simplicity and ease of use of the Small Business Budget Spreadsheet. The small business budget spreadsheet is so easy to use!! But even more importantly, it allows you to see how your business is doing at a glance because everything is right there on the same sheet. Struggling to easily understand how your business is performing? Merilee’s video tutorial also helps you understand where the money should be going each month: taxes, savings, paying yourself, etc. I don’t want to pay for an accounting service each month, but this spreadsheet makes complete sense to me, and is much more organized than what I was doing on my own!
This is a helpful way to track your business income and expenses. I wish I had this spreadsheet from the get-go!
